Bergamot Organic Essential Oil

From the fertile land of Tuscany, our Bergamot oil comes with a sunny and cheerful quality that is instantly soothing and uplifting as soon as we open the bottle.

Bergamot is a bitter citrus fruit; the oils extracted from the rind carry the zesty yet floral aroma of the bergamot blossom, a sophisticated aroma with innocent powdery notes, an absolute delight!

Having natural antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, Bergamot is cooling and calming for inflamed skin conditions such as acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

Less is more with Bergamot on the skin - use in small dilutions as, it being a citrus oil, it may irritate the skin - thus having the opposite effect.

For oily skin, Bergamot is perfect to remove excess oil and balance sebum production, mix a couple of drops with a tablespoon of vegetable oil (or honey) and fine sea salt for an effective face scrub.

The uplifting cheery Bergamot is the best choice to bring comfort to anyone feeling down or sad, children especially respond very well to Bergamot. Remember that this oil represents innocence and joy. Anxiety, anger, frustration, and stress can all be eased with a little Bergamot. Traditionally used for centuries in the Mediterranean to strengthen the immune system, and relieve the symptoms of colds, flu, and bronchitis, or to treat mild infections such as sore throats.

Bergamot can also be a great digestive aid, relieving flatulence, colic, and all uncomfortable digestive issues. Blend a good digestion oil by adding two drops of Bergamot to a tablespoon of vegetable oil and massaging it on the lower back and the abdominal area.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:  Do not use neat on the skin. Use in small dilutions especially in sensitive skin. This bergamot is Bergapten-free, meaning that unlike most Bergamots, it is not phototoxic.
